Don’t Do This If You’re a Digital Course Creator!

It will damage your reputation.

Since closing the shopping cart on my recent launch, I’ve received several emails from people disappointed they missed out.

They’re also wondering if I can “do them a favor” and open the cart back up so they can join the community.

And while I feel bad they missed out, I can’t help them.

When you’re a new creator who earns your first few dollars online, it can be tempting to make an exception or two like this.

However, I advise you not to do it for two reasons:

1) It will break the trust of your audience.

What’s the point of setting a deadline and using urgency if it ultimately doesn’t matter?

These types of “sale extended” tactics are what give creators and marketers a bad name. You see it all the time, especially after big consumer events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

“SALE EXTENDED — THIS WEEK ONLY!”

Yeah… sure… whatever you say…

The main reason why creators — and indeed big businesses— do this is because their campaigns were a total bust.
