Getting comments on your writing feels great.

When people let you know your content has changed their perspective or helped them navigate a specific problem, it inspires and motivates you to keep going.

However, every once in a while you get a comment that sucks.

I’m not talking about a negative comment criticizing your work either.

Those types of comments are to be expected. Especially if you write something opinionated.

No. I’m talking about other writers who beg for engagement.

Have people forgotten how to be cool?

Every once in a while I receive a comment like the following:

Actual comment on one of my stories.

The first two sentences are a poor attempt at flattery.

The final sentence is shameless begging.

(At least he didn’t drop an article link 🙄)
