“Early Bird Catches the Worm”
As a child, I heard this proverb more times than I can count. I never understood it’s wisdom until recently.
Freelance copywriting and affiliate marketing are two of my passions.
When you have a two kids, a wife, and a dog…
Making time to work on your side hustle can be a challenge.
That’s why I get up two hours before everyone else in my house.
“It is well to be up before daybreak, for such habits contribute to health, wealth, and wisdom.”
– Aristotle
Each morning my eyes flutter open and before I know it…
My feet are on the floor as I attempt to creep out of bed without waking my wife.
She’s a light sleeper.
Most times I fail.
A moment later, my coffee is brewed and I’m hard at work with my dog laying by my feet.
I think he enjoys it.
I know I do.
For nearly two hours, the only sounds I hear are the buzz of the compressor in my refrigerator and the clicking of computer keys.
It’s peaceful.
The exact type of environment I need in order to get shit done.
“Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”.
– Benjamin Franklin
The older I get, the more I realize that routine, structure, and self-discipline are essential if you are to become successful in any area of life.
I wish I had known this in my 20’s, but better late than never I suppose.
So, if your struggling to find time to work on achieving a specific goal…
Remember:
The goal posts never move.
You do.
