Is This a Habit Yet?
It’s starting to feel like it.
You know that panicked feeling you get when you wake up and think you’re running late for something?
That’s how I felt this morning.
Before my feet hit the floor, my wife groggily asked, “are you okay?”
I was… and still am.
However, the thought that woke me so forcefully was this:
I need to go write my micro journal for the day.
Is it possible to form a new habit in only 4 days?
I’ve heard random numbers tossed out in the past…
21 days.
66 days.
Even 254 days.
Should I write a book now?
“The Four Minute Habit”
Will I become the new Tim Ferriss?
Will “micro tasks” be my thing?
Lift weights for 4 minutes every day.
Run on the treadmill for 4 minutes every day.
Do “micro habits” result in “macro habits”?
Turns out they do.
A quick google search tells me that “micro habits” are actually a thing.
You add a habit you want to cultivate like meditation to the beginning or end of your day, and practice for a minute or two.
Then, as you slowly form the new habit, you gradually increase the duration.
Who knew?
Sounds like an experiment worth trying.
