Twitter is a Dopamine Machine

Your home feed is designed to keep you “doom-scrolling”

TikTok is a dopamine machine.

Its algorithm is designed to keep you “doom-scrolling”

Instagram…

YouTube…

Facebook…

All of them are designed to keep your mind locked into “consumption” mode.

But these dopamine hits mean NOTHING.

When you’re a creator, the dopamine hits come in a different form…

Likes…

Shares…

Comments…

That little ping that goes off every time someone engages with your content.

It feels good to see something you’ve put out into the world resonate with people.

And guess what?

These dopamine hits ALSO mean NOTHING.

The only dopamine hits that matter as a creator are:

  • The hits that come when someone takes the time to reach out and say “THANK YOU” for creating a specific piece of content.
  • The “Cha-Ching” from your Gumroad notifications.
