You write because you love it.

But let’s be honest for a second.

You want people to read what you’ve written.

And you’d like to actually get paid a living wage for doing what you love.

Most new (and some seasoned) writers think that just because they write something epic, the masses will find it.

Who doesn’t dream of waking up to find an essay they’ve written has gone viral all over the Internet?

Us writers are a narcissistic bunch.

You’d like to think if you just had the time to articulate your thoughts into a 300-page manifesto you could change the world.

And maybe you could.

But if nobody reads it, what’s the point?

I hate to break it to you Young Hemmingway…

Knowing how to write well isn’t the most important skill you need to learn if you want to be a successful scribe.
