When Imitation Isn’t Flattery

An open letter to the spammer who is using my name and image.

Dear Spammer,

I see you:

But, if I may ask:

What are you trying to accomplish here?

Anyone who follows me knows this isn’t actually me.

On one hand, I’m flattered that you think my name and image has the weight to pull people into your shitty telegram group.

But on the other, I’m baffled you think tactics like this actually work.

Anyone who does join your group is likely to be so desperate they don’t have any money to give you anyway.

Perhaps you’re in some third world country, in a room of computers with 100 other “Nigerian Princes”

Or perhaps you just a kid who is shuffled away in a dark corner of your parents basement trying to make some “beer money” for a night of drinking with your buddies.
