When NOT to Tag Another Medium Writer (And Risk Their Wrath)

I get tagged a lot by other writers.

Usually, they’re referencing something I’ve written or giving me a polite shout-out. Other times, you can tell they’re just fishing for engagement, a plug in my newsletter, or some other reason that isn’t very clear.

Every once in a while, you get something like the following from tobi — Audio Writer:

Now —

I’ve been accused of a lot of things, but giving generic writing advice has never been on the list as far as I can recall. But I won’t deny it.

(I’m not sure about the other author who was tagged above me.)

Normally, I’d let a comment like this slide and wouldn’t give it a second thought.

But today I need content for my newsletter, so I’m picking up my pitchfork and poking back.
